Asbestos Management Surveys

The purpose of completing an Asbestos Management Survey is to locate the presence and extent of any suspected Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM), as far as is reasonably practicable. This is completed through a visual inspection as well as being combined with knowledge of building construction. The results of samples collected for analysis at a UKAS accredited laboratory will be included in the Asbestos Register Report.

An Asbestos Survey is the standard survey required on any non-domestic building or communal area of apartment buildings built before 2000. The survey is designed to locate the presence and extent of any suspected ACM and asbestos fibres in the building which could be damaged during refurbishment or disturbed during normal occupancy. (Increasingly, domestic properties are surveyed during the sales process to ensure buyers do not inherit asbestos materials and the costs associated with removal)

These surveys will often involve minor intrusive work but with minimal disturbance to the property. The extent of this intrusion will vary between premises. Upon completion of a Management Survey, you will be provided with a report detailing the location and properties of any asbestos found within the building.
