The purpose of the survey is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable the presence and extent of any suspect Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) This is done by a visual inspection combined with a knowledge of building construction. Samples are collected for analysis at a UKAS accredited laboratory and the results included in the Asbestos Register Report.
This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) in the property and may involve intrusive inspection to gain access to cavities & voids, including those areas difficult to reach. A full sampling program is undertaken to identify possible ACM. This survey is designed to be used as a basis for tendering for the removal of ACM from a premises prior to demolition and/or to support major refurbishment. (Homeowners preparing to undertake major building works are advised to carry out a Refurbishment and Demolition Survey prior to commencing works)
We undertake sampling of suspected Asbestos Containing Material. Samples are analysed by an independent UKAS accredited laboratory.
Since May 2004, people responsible for non- domestic premises built before 2000 (including those managing communal areas in residential buildings & landlords) are required by law to know about any Asbestos Containing Material (ACM’s) present in their premises, its location, condition and how to manage it. This requires each building to have an Asbestos Register and have an Asbestos Management Plan in place. To achieve this, you will need to commission an Asbestos Survey which will provide you with an Asbestos Register Report for your building with clear guidance and recommendation on the content of your Management Plan.
Once ACM’s are identified and in good condition, they may not need to be removed. If this is the case, we undertake Annual Condition Surveys to monitor the condition of the ACM and update the Asbestos Register Report to comply with HSE Regulations.
We can provide quotations for the removal of ACM. We provide this service at no additional cost.
